You must be so thrilled that today is his LAST CHEMO TREATMENT!!!! I'm sure it's been a long road, but you two have come through with grace and dignity. Love ya both!!!
Thanks, Cheeky, Joyce & Liz! I just can't believe it's over.
After watching my sister's dog have a terrible experience with chemo I swore I'd never put my dog through it, but as soon as he was diagnosed it became an entirely different story. I just wanted to save his life. I will always be grateful that I was able to treat him. All in all it's been a very positive experience.
I am SO happy for both of you!!! Dee and Kate - you are an inspiration for Mick and I. I hope we can deal w/our illness as graceful and corageous as you two! Congrats on sucessfully finishing chemo! :)
It almost feels surreal, doesn't it? I feel like we have all been able to experience this journey with you and Kato. We felt your highs and lows and my respect and admiration for you and my love for Kato has just grown more and more. Hooray for both of you. I couldn't be more thrilled. WAY TO GO!!!!!!
My name is Dee, and Kato is my Pit Bull.
I lost my dog, Ivan, to cancer in Oct of 2001. I had read about the plight of Pit Bulls and thought of fostering one, but was still grieving over the loss of Ivan. My sister went to the SPCA, just to look at the Pit Bulls, since she wasn't familiar with the breed. There were many - too many.
Kato had been brought in as a cruelty and abandonment case and was deteriorating badly in the shelter. They asked her to consider taking him because he was so anxiety-ridden he had hung himself in an attempt to escape his kennel.
That’s where my sister first saw him, a shivering, cowering, panicked dog. She brought him to me that day and we've been together ever since. He's my heart dog.
