Yogurt?

Kato's stomach is still upset. He doesn't have much of an appetite and still has the runs. The Vet is puzzled, as am I. I'm going to get him some yogurt today and see if that helps.

Update tomorrow!

Yogurt is a good idea for every day if you are going to stick to a raw diet. It just helps keep things normal. And pumpkin for those runs might not be a bad idea either!

I am so glad that the treatments have dropped back to every two weeks so he has time to recover. I hate to think of what the poor guy is going through. You guys are doing a great job, though!

If all else fails, you can try fortiflora (i know,m it's a purina product, bad bad), it's live bacteria you give out in moist food (it's a powder) and they're the good bacteria you find in the large gut.

Usually it helps a lot with diarrhea.

Hopefully Kato will feel better soon,
Isa, Jessie and the rest of the bunch

Thanks, Tara!

After reading your thread I put pumpkin on my grocery list. He's not supposed to have any dairy, so that's why I don't usually give him yogurt. I did find a little in a covered bowl in the fridge and fed it to him early this morning. I'll try the pumpkin if this doesn't help.
I think I'll email Carolann and ask her what I can use, or, if a little yogurt, every day, is ok for him.

I'm not so sure this is from the chemo. It's been over a week and he's usually only "off" for a day or so.

I'm glad we're on this schedule now too and am hoping he'll have his next treatment at home.:)

Thanks again!

Hi Isa!

Great to hear from you!

Thanks for the advice. I'll definitely look into the fortiflora.

I hope all is well with you, Jessie & the gang. :)

Positive thoughts being sent to our sweetie pie, Kato.

Try chicken broth in water to keep him drinking. And hold the dish for him. They seem to like that.

XOXOXOXOXOX

Awww, Kato, I hope you feel much better with some of these remedies. *sending good thoughts*

Is it possible that one of the raw food sources might be problematic ie: bacteria contamination from handling or something? You could consider eliminating one thing at time and see if it improves. Just a random idea to consider.

*sending more good thoughts to sweet Kato and you*

Thanks, T-3!

That's actually something Kato has done on his own. He had been refusing raw food for a few days, so I tried different things with no improvement in his symptoms.
I'm about to update on his Vet visit of last night.

Thanks for the good thoughts. :)
