This is a picture of John, a wonderful man who worked at the shelter, saying goodbye to Kato on the day he came to me as a foster in 2001.
I'll find out today if Kato is in remission! I know he is, but will post the official word as soon as the Oncologist confirms it!
More later!

Awww . . . that must be Kato when you adopted him! How touching. Hoping Kato's tummy is feeling better and he can eat okay *sending lots and lots of good thoughts* :)
Dee, this is really a neat blog! It's a sad topic, but it may help others going through the same thing. You and Kato are in my thoughts! pitbullmamaliz
My name is Dee, and Kato is my Pit Bull.
I lost my dog, Ivan, to cancer in Oct of 2001. I had read about the plight of Pit Bulls and thought of fostering one, but was still grieving over the loss of Ivan. My sister went to the SPCA, just to look at the Pit Bulls, since she wasn't familiar with the breed. There were many - too many.
Kato had been brought in as a cruelty and abandonment case and was deteriorating badly in the shelter. They asked her to consider taking him because he was so anxiety-ridden he had hung himself in an attempt to escape his kennel.
That’s where my sister first saw him, a shivering, cowering, panicked dog. She brought him to me that day and we've been together ever since. He's my heart dog.

I just saw your comment and it is Kato when he first came home with you! :D
The FE and I will be thinking good thoughts all day hoping for good results!
That is indeed my baby on the day he came home to me!
He's a little better, T-3! I just know he's going to have a good week!
Many thanks to you & the FE for the support! I can't tell you how much it means to us.
Love,
Dee & Kate

Hi Dee and Kato,
The last comment was from me and I can't seem to sign in and forgot to sign it. I am wishing for the best with my fingers crossed!

Thanks, Shelly!
We're calling it remission, but Kato didn't go to the hospital today and the Vet still wants to check his nodes one more time.
I'm sorry you're having trouble signing in. Let me try to find out what the problem is.
Hugs,
Dee & Kate
I am glad to hear that. :) I hope the doc exam goes well! More good thoughts and peanut butter doggy good wishes to you and K. :)
Thanks, T-3! :)
Look how pitiful he looks in that newspaper pic.
What a different dog now!
