Back to the vet

Kato's going back to the vet in a little while. I went in to take a shower and when I came out his mouth was bleeding and his foot is worse.

Update later....

*Back from the vet*

Kate's foot is infected, but they aren't sure what it is. It looks like a burn, which is what I thought as well, but I can't think of how he could have burned it. He's back on antibiotics for the infection.
He also got a shot for nausea and sub Q fluids because he was dehydrated from all the vomiting. I'm hoping he'll sleep for a while, then I'll try to get him to eat a little so I can give him his meds.

The poor boy! We will be sending him healthy thoughts today. Hang in there, you two.

Thanks, Tara!

He's stopped vomiting, but has just slept since he got back from the vet last night. There is something wrong with the eye he had surgery on, so I have a call in to the vet.

Oh my goodness! His little face looks so forelorn. :(

XOXOXOXO to Kato AND YOU!

Thanks, Joyce!

He's really not feeling well. I did manage to get him to eat a piece of meat, so that made me happy.

Still thinking about you guys. How is he feeling this morning, Dee? I wish there was something I could do for you both.

Thanks, Tara! I really appreciate you checking in and posting. It means a lot to me!

He's definitely better this morning! His eye is less swollen and gunky and his limp is not as pronounced. He actually manged to give me a little tail wag, so I'm thrilled.

He's not having chemo this week, but will be having his blood checked tomorrow, so I'll see if his counts are low and that's why he's ill. I guess last week's surgery and chemo were too much for him, but I'm sure he's on the mend now!

Thanks again!

Dee, I know people can get sores on their skin from chemo. Maybe Kato had a small sore on his mouth and then rubbed it?

Do you add probiotics to his food? Maybe that will help counteract the antibiotics and anesthesia he went under?

I didn't know that, Joyce. He did see the Vet and she thinks because he is itchy he just went crazy scratching it. (He did it when I was in the shower)

I add a blend of powders to his food and he's being treated with homeopathy as well. I can ask Carolann about the probiotics. He's not supposed to have dairy, but I do have some yogurt here. I could give him a couple of tablespoons of that.

Thanks, Joyce!

Hi Shelly,

He's much better today! I think he'll be fine in a couple more days.

Thanks for the support and love!

Awww, sweet Kato, I hope you are feeling much, much better today. It sounds like the surgery and chemo together was really tough on him. I hope the vet can assess him and make sure they find ways to ensure he gets a bit stronger before too much more stress from treatments, etc.

I will be thinking of you both all day tomorrow and sending truckloads, no make that mountains, of healing thoughts and love. Take it easy both of you and share some snuggles, okay?

Awww, thanks T-3! He's really doing much better today! :)

The next couple of chemo treatments usually don't make him sick, so I'm happy about that. He's got 8 treatments to go and then he's done. :)
